What is an Online Persona?

Web cam models who are successful online on some level pick a persona to use for work. This persona helps entertainers separate themselves from their art. It also protects your peace and personal life. The persona is important because it helps us models separate our work identity and our real life identity (just like a lot of other jobs it involves masking). Therefore, building a strong persona protects models from getting too emotionally involved in their work. I think it's similar to drag culutre in a way. When I'm putting on my make-up, my glitter body lotion, and wearing my crazy outfits thats me getting in the head space of Stassie Jones. It's almost a ritual for me when I change into her. Now, with that being said, the persona isn't a fake character by any means. The persona is just an extension of the models existing personality. The persona has played such a strong role in my development as a human being that often find myself asking "what would Stassie do?". Because Stassie is me.... just a better, more confident version of me.

For models, there are a couple things to consider when creating your persona. Are you more submissive, dominant, or a switch sexually? Do you provide a sexual niche like taboo role plays, cosplay, hosting games, etc? Are you a hot nerdy girl? Are you the girl next door? Are you a dominatrix? The posibilities are literally endless. Now because the market of online sex work is frankly becoming oversaturated, the more niche your persona is the better. The most niche thing I've ever seen a cam model so to build her brand was this Russian model who would bring her cam out in the woods. She would then build a fire in the snow, and then some guy would show up and rail her. Incredibly captivating and niche, I'm telling you the possibilities are endless. As long as you can captivate an audience you'll be successful. The easiest way to captivate an audience is (as cheesy as it sounds) to be yourself. The persona is rooted in who you are, and what you natural gravitate towards. Take all the best parts of yourself and shine a spot light on it.

The persona is meant to be played up in free chat, role play shows, and the short shows where the customer isn't trying to get to know YOU. As I mentioned before, your persona should really be an extenstion of your current personality, not a completely new identity. However, remain calculated and think of a persona to play up because adapting to your audicence's needs will create the highest form of successful seduction. Customers can also tell when a girl is being fake. You know, the baby voice, calling them babe every 7 seconds, acting blantenly dumb. There is market for that but it won't land you long term customers. The persona will get the attention of customers. What keeps a customer is slowing allowing them to see past the persona and learn who you really are. This makes them feel special, and close to you. Which is important in this industry since we are selling intamacy.

The reason customers come to interact with online cam models is because they want that connection with you. They want to share an experience and bond with another person. Otherwise they would go watch porn, jerk off and call it a day. Customers crave that interaction. So create a persona, but aline it with who you really are, and what you have to offer in terms of intamacy. Your personality will attract more customers than your looks. Web cam offers the models some escapism too so have fun with your persona!

I have a strong personality, I speak my mind, and I like to make people laugh. I therefore incorrporate all those traits into my persona and I crank them up even higher when I'm online.
